Project Description

This 80′ wide x 192′ long Butler Building was constructed in 1962. By early 2010, this building had faithfully served as the USET indoor riding arena for 48 years. With the USET hosting the Equestrian World Cup later that year, it was time for some building upgrades. Fenton was called in to evaluate the structure and recommend repairs. We found that over the many years of use, dirt had built up around the base of the building columns and base girts causing extensive rust to these structural members. We had the entire building evaluated by a structural engineer. We performed structural repairs to the base of eleven building columns and replaced several other rusted or damaged steel members. On three sides of the building we installed footings, built a 4′ high CMU wainscot wall, and applied a field stone veneer finish. We also installed drainage pipes around the building to help with drainage. The repairs and upgrades to the building made a huge difference in its’ overall appearance.
